2025 FELLOWSHIP CONFERMENT APPLICATION FORM
FOR FELLOWSHIP GRADE BY DIRECT APPLICATION (Candidates are requested to read the Conditions and Requirements before completing this form.) We wish to inform all corporate members who are eligible and have satisfied the requirements below for the Fellowship of the Institution to kindly apply. Application for the conferment of “Fellow of NIGE” for this year shall close on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. GUIDELINES FOR FELLOWSHIP CONFERMENT: The conferment of “Fellow” of the Institution shall either be by invitation of the Executive Council of the Institution or by normal application by a member to the Executive Secretary, NIGE, who shall in turn refer such application to the Board of Fellows of the Institution. Each fellowship candidate shall complete an Application form to be issued by the Secretariat or obtained and filled online via NIGE’s website: https://nige.org.ng/admin/contents/documents/upload • FELLOWSHIP BY NORMAL APPLICATION. A person applying for the Fellowship of the Institution shall normally have had not less than fifteen (15) years experience in the practice of geotechnical engineering. In addition, he shall also meet the following conditions: i) Must be a Corporate Member of the Institution for a minimum of 10 years with active participation in NIGE activities and meetings at the chapter level. ii) Have rendered valuable and selfless service to the institution over a period of time. iii) Should be versed and experienced in the field of Geotechnical engineering iv) Obtain a letter from his/her chapter testifying to his active participation at the Chapter level or from the Executive General Secretary where there is no chapter existing in his town or state of operation. v) Obtain letters from two Fellows of the Institution testifying to his/her competence of being conferred with the Fellowship of the Institution. Must pay for NIGE Fellowship and Processing fee of three hundred and fifty thousand naira (N350,000) only into NIGE’s Account No. 0030059758 - Un

2025 NIGE International Conference and AGM - Poster Competition Guidlines and Application Form
The NIGE is inviting Young Geotechnical Engineers to enter its maiden poster competition and stand a chance of winning rewarding awards. The candidates should submit PDF posters digitally on any topic relating but not limited to the conference of the work dealing with the contributions of geotechnical engineering to Nigeria’s development through ground engineering behaviour, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or state-of-the-art research. Poster Review and Pre-qualification Posters will be assessed prior to the event by NIGE Technical Committee on research papers. All posters will be displayed at the conference and the winner will be announced on the day. Following the event, all posters submitted will be available to view on the NIGE website for updates and further engagements. We encourage as many applicants as possible, as this is a great opportunity for young engineers to showcase their work at this early stage in their careers. Number of Entries Expected Minimum of 10 entries from various spheres of geotechnical engineering. Entry rules are as follows: • Candidates should be under 35 years of age on 31st December 2024. • Candidates should be members or potential members of the NIGE, students, and practitioners of geotechnical engineering. (Students can join NIGE for free.) • Posters may be up to A0 in size (1189 mm x 841 mm) but must be in landscape orientation • Authors may layout the content as they wish, but the poster should display “NIGE Annual Conference & AGM 2025,” together with the title of the presentation, the name of author and their affiliation. • The poster should be submitted as a pdf with a brief CV and completed application form by midnight of 26th October 2025 (one month to the conference), to nige.org.ng. What you stand to gain Exciting prizes will be won, including 1st Prize – N150,000 plus automatic registration to attend African Young Geotechnical Engineers
